How do I avoid getting hurt?

Three things can help and prevent getting hurt. 

1. Have shoes that fit without your toe hitting the tip and the cushion is still working well for you.

2. Be sure to stretch very well. Stretching can prevent a lot of injuries.

3. Alternate hard and easy days.

How do I know if I’m really hurt or I’m just sore and it will go away?

If pain is persistent after RICE, then you need to see a doctor.

Rest

Ice

Compression

Elevation

If after RICE, the injury isn’t any better, a doctor should be seen.

From the blog section, I nursed and injury in my hip flexor.  After having a sports massage, I discovered that it was from taking on too many hills.  Therefore, it may be good to visit one to see if it could fix the problem.

If at any point you begin to feel repeated pain when you run, and only while running, chances are it’s the shoes that you’re running in.  Try another pair just to see if that will help.
