My Goal Race: Atlanta Women’s 5k

Time: 31.23

Mileage: 3.1 miles

Weight: 159 Pounds

I had a new Personal Record this morning: 31.23.

Before the race began, the training group met to have a picture of all of us who participated.

The race went well.  The group I’ve been training with meets at The Whole Foods in Buckhead on W Paces.  Our usual routes include a massive amount of hillwork.  The route of the 5k included very few hills.  Therefore, it was easy to run this flat course compared to what we normally train on.

The training program has helped me get to a place where I enjoy running.  Before, it was hard for me to want to go out and run, no matter how bad I wanted to.   I am amazed that I believe 20 minutes of running is nothing.

The coach who has been training us, Tina Klein, says that we are doing more than the average American does just by getting out there.  This is true.

Running clears the mind, helps the heart, and is good for your soul.
